AQA A Level Physics (7408)
Students are entered for three examinations for the A level, Papers 1, 2, and 3.
Each paper has a duration of 2 hours, papers 1 and 2 are marked out 85, paper 3 is marked out of 80. Papers 1 and 2 are made up of short and long response questions totalling 60 marks, the multiple-choice sections total 25 marks.
Paper 3 has 45 marks of short and long answer questions on practical experiments and data analysis, and 35 marks of short and long answer questions on the optional topic.
Paper 1 and 2 is worth 34% each and paper 3 is worth 32% of the A level.
The content is split into 8 main teaching topics with a choice of 5 optional topics (of which only one is chosen):
